My week so far...

Last week was a nice change for me....
After months of closed doors for employment, I got two job offers in the same morning!
One was a week long contract, and the other starts on Tuesday.
So last week I was working at a display design workshop, where they make things for department store windows. A local store in my town called 'Hoopers' had comissioned the workshop to make 2 metre high white flowers!!
So I have been having great fun sculpting paper - yes, you can sculpt paper! For some of the taller stuff we used white card, but for a lot of the flower heads and leaves we used fire-retardent (for health and safety reasons) catridge paper. Its amazing how paper transforms from a lifeless bit of nothing to a beautiful piece of art once it has been scored and folded. If I can I will post photographs, but that could be a while coming...!!

Next week I start at a Jewellers. I have a real interest in jewellery and jewellery design, so this should be cool. As part of the job I have to learn all about diamonds...and rubies..and sapphires...and emeralds...and pearls.....and...oh what fun! I am getting paid to learn about something that I have always wanted to know more about. Cool!

Yesterday an old school friend of mine Esther (Hello Esther! I know you secretly read my blog ;o), and my fellow blog friend Emma came down to my part of the country. We all went to a new coffee shop in my town. Well actually its a chocolate (yummmmmmmmmy) shop with a cafe in it.
It is in a beautiful, old part of my town called 'The Pantiles' and is run by a lady called Stephanie (great name ;o) who is a Ghanian princess, who gave up her royal position to marry an englishman and live over here. Arrrrrrrrr, the power of love.

OOoooooOOOOooo!!! I liked the story of love at the end! It was so cool!

Although giving up royalty for a guy??? Aw, who am I kidding? I'd do it too!

If the guy makes you FEEL like royalty then you've got it made eh?

Ps. Steph I didn't get your email! Did you send it to the address on my blog? Just in case you need it, it's sarahlouise_82@hotmail.com =)
Please try again!

LOVE!

Was great to meet up on Saturday....put a face to the name and all, was a really good giggle. You'll have to come up and visit us in North Wales at some point....maybe when Esther's coming back from Tunbridge Wells and then you'd only be having to get a one way train ticket...i'll leave it up to you guys.
Do you realise we didn't get our chocolates with our hot drink? Think I may have to return and ask for 2 next time!!
