Midnight Wonder
It was late at night and I couldn’t get to sleep, too much thinking going on.
I crawled to the end of my bed and looked out of the window and looked up into the clear night sky. The moon was full and bright, and as wisps of cloud floated under it, they were beautifully illuminated. Around the moon was a clear ring of light, with subtle layers of colour, like a rainbow. The stars were out on show, twinkling, beaming down their jewels of light, thousands of years gone by in their journey.
I’m sitting here at my laptop listening to ‘Now we are free’, by Lisa Gerrard from ‘Gladiator’. In my opinion it’s an enchanting piece of music, and I’ve got it on repeat. I can quite happily listen to a favourite piece of music over and over and over again. Just to soak it all in. Eventually I will probably get bored of it, but until then, I am happy.
Perhaps I’m a little different
But I don’t like sitting in crowds, when I’m thinking deeply
And I do like Starbucks, for it’s familiarity.
I think mobile phones are a blessing, not a curse.
I prefer sincerity, to a wildly funny joke
And I prefer typing my thoughts, than writing them.
I think little dogs are cute
And that goldfish should be renamed orange-fish
I love stylish cars
And I don’t like fake tan.
I love lots of music
But only buy half of it
I like to straighten my hair for fun
But then I want it back to normal again.
I think jelly fish are scary creatures
And that there could be undiscovered colours that we’ve never even thought of, waiting for us in Heaven.
In my pursuit of employment, I handed my CV into a fashion store today. It’s a designer place and sells ridiculously expensive clothes, such as a jacket for £400 (that’s like $1000 Canadian dollars)!!!
I would much prefer to design the clothes, than sell them.
I can see it now……Stephania’s Boutique, located somewhere on Queens street, Toronto, or in Notting Hill, London, perhaps with an adjacent tea room, selling authentic English cream teas and earl grey tea. Oh, and of course, chai tea. (I personally think the stuff is gross - it reminds me of a cough mixture I had to take when I was little, that made me throw up).
I love this verse:
But I’ll take the hand of those who don’t know the way,
Who can’t see where they’re going.
I’ll be a personal guide to them,
Directing them through unknown country.
I’ll be right there to show them what roads to take,
Make sure they don’t fall into a ditch.
These are the things I’ll be doing for them-
Sticking with them, not leaving them for a minute.
Isaiah 42 15&16 (I think) The Message
God is faithful.
